Memory Card Maintenance & G-Sensor Guide

Important: Memory Card Maintenance

You must manually format your memory card every 15 days to ensure continuous recording.

Why Format Every 15 Days?

Your dash camera uses loop recording, which continuously records and overwrites old footage. However, G-sensor locked videos will NOT be overwritten and can quickly fill up your memory card, preventing new recordings.

Understanding G-Sensor Protection

The G-sensor automatically locks footage in two situations:

  • During collisions - Impact events are instantly locked
  • During bumpy roads - Sudden jolts and vibrations trigger locking

⚠️ Critical: G-sensor locked videos are permanently protected and will NOT be deleted by loop recording. They must be manually removed through formatting.

What Happens If You Don't Format?

  • Memory card fills up with locked G-sensor footage
  • No space for new recordings
  • Camera stops recording without warning
  • You lose protection during critical moments

How to Format Your Memory Card:

  1. Access your dash camera settings menu
  2. Navigate to "Storage" or "Memory Card" settings
  3. Select "Format Memory Card"
  4. Confirm the formatting process
  5. Wait for completion (30-60 seconds)

⚠️ Warning: Formatting will erase ALL data including locked G-sensor footage. Make sure to backup any important evidence before formatting.

Best Practices:

  • Set a calendar reminder to format every 15 days
  • Review and backup important G-sensor footage before formatting
  • Use high-endurance memory cards (Class 10, U3, or V30 rated)
  • Recommended capacity: 64GB-128GB
  • Keep a spare memory card for emergencies
  • Regularly verify your camera is recording properly

Adjusting G-Sensor Sensitivity (Optional)

If your camera locks too many videos during normal driving on bumpy roads, you can adjust the G-sensor sensitivity in settings. Lower sensitivity = fewer false triggers.
